SJVC’s Fresno campus offers hands-on career training to students in Central California. Class schedules are flexible to work with your busy life and class sizes are manageable so you can get individualized attention.

We focus on career training and education and have a dedicated Career Services staff that is focused on helping students find career opportunities when they graduate.

SJVC Fresno is committed to the personal, academic and professional success of all its students. Our campus provides opportunities to develop critical thinking, career skills and professionalism all in an excellent classroom setting that is designed to mimic real-life scenarios. Our programs incorporate hands-on assignments and projects which are vital for vocational-based learning. Our Fresno campus is located conveniently near River Park and Fashion Fair Mall, meaning there are many things to see and do between classes.

Located in the Hoover neighborhood, you get all the amenities of a big college campus while getting a faster, career-oriented education. Near campus are plenty of dining options, from coffee shops and boba tea to fine steakhouses.

Nearby, the River Park outdoor shopping mall provides amenities, shopping and entertainment in an outdoor setting. Whether you want to pick up some new clothes or stop for a bite, it’s just minutes from campus.

If River Park doesn’t have what you’re looking for, Fashion Fair Mall isn’t far away. Providing premier shopping and dining, the Fashion Fair Mall is a perfect place to check out before or after classes or while waiting out rush hour.


Conveniently located close to the 41, it’s easy for students in neighboring communities to get to class. If you’re looking for public transportation, the 32 bus stops on nearby Fresno St. and Sierra Ave.

Medical and Dental Programs

According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, there is a growing need for medical support professionals of all types as the Baby Boomer population ages and needs medical care. Our campus provides a wide array of medical programs to help you find the right job in health care. Whether you want to help with animals in our Veterinary Assistant program, or you see helping doctors as a front office administrator, we have many programs for all interests.

Some of our programs prepare you for a job in the medical field in as little as 9 months, meaning you don’t have to spend four years studying before you pursue a career you love.

Business and Criminal Justice Programs

Joining any business setting can be intimidating without the right training. SJVC’s Business Office Administration program provides a baseline of business knowledge and skills that can be beneficial in any company’s operation. Students in this program develop skills to help them become knowledgeable, ethical and technically competent.

If you’ve considered a career in criminal justice, our Criminal Justice: Corrections program may be a good fit. Our students learn important skills for the job including evidence collection and preservation, defensive tactics and report writing. Many graduates of this program find work in security before moving to rewarding careers as correctional officers.

Trades and Industrial Programs

According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, maintenance worker jobs are expected to grow 7.9% by 2026, and electricians and heating, ventilation, and air conditioning jobs are supposed to grow 14.7%. Now is a great time to pursue a trades education in California. Students in the Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning, and Refrigeration program learn skills for year-round job security in the heating and cooling industry. If you choose to pursue Industrial Maintenance Technology, there are a great number of opportunities as industrial mechanics, heavy machinery mechanics, millwrights, and more.
