Medical assistants (also known as MAs) provide both clinical and administrative support for physicians and other healthcare providers in the field. Many MAs are often cross-trained to perform the following duties:
Administrative roles may include:
- Arranging lab services

- Organizing hospital admissions
- Using computer software programs

Clerical and back end roles may include:
- Interviewing patients
