SJVC celebrates instructors for Teacher Appreciation Week
SJVC students and staff recently celebrated National Teacher Appreciation Week May 7-11. SJVC asked its students on social media to share a note about their favorite instructors, and our students delivered! Nearly 100 students participated, leaving wonderful comments on Instagram and Facebook about their SJVC instructors.
A few of our favorite comments included:
From SJVC Bakersfield Pharmacy Technology student Victoria: “[Instructor] Krysten Schweighart…reaffirmed my choice to go into the pharmacy field. She genuinely cares about every single one of her students. She pushes us to make us better pharmacy techs and inspires me to be the best I can. She continues to check in on us even when we aren’t in her class that module just to make sure we are still getting along okay.”
From SJVC Madera student Raelene: “Mrs. Michelle King from [the] Madera campus! Never met someone who’s so patient and willing to see students strive for greatness! She always has a smile and [is] always so friendly! When I would lose hope, she [would] find a way to make me realize I got this! She is motivational, funny, understanding, caring, hard working and she shows a lot of respect for everyone! Even on days she wasn’t feeling well, she found ways to be there and never once let a student down! She’s full of positivity. I honestly don’t know how I would of got through the program without her positive vibes. Her smile makes everyone feel comfort! She’s honestly the best in my opinion and instructors like her should be recognized for always having hope for the students and not giving up on us! #teammichelleking!!!”
From SJVC Hesperia student Lauren: Mr. Patch…was one of those teachers who give you so much motivation and inspiration it actually changes your life. He made us believe we could make it to the top! 😊 😊”
SJVC also held a random drawing for a $50 Amazon gift card to go to an SJVC instructor in celebration of Teacher Appreciation Week, and we’re pleased to announce that Ontario Dental Hygiene instructor Bernadette Smith won. Congrats Mrs. Smith! Her student Ali commented on Facebook, ” Mrs. Bernadette Smith…I love her teaching style.”
