Construction managers typically regulate and handle various building projects from start to finish. They are responsible for creating work schedules, monitoring project budgets, and ensuring safety guidelines are being followed every day. Our Construction Management program teaches students to plan, lead and oversee the building process. Students successfully completing the CON 142 course (on-ground only) will also have the opportunity to receive an OSHA 10-Hour Construction Outreach Training Completion Card.
Electrical Technology
Electricians install, maintain, and repair electrical power, communications, lighting, and control systems in homes, businesses, and factories. They also work in various settings, like factories or residential properties. The duties of an electrician depend on where they work. These tasks can include anything from:
- Install and maintain wiring, control, and lighting systems
- Inspect electrical components, such as transformers and circuit breakers
- Identify electrical problems using a variety of testing devices
- Repair or replace wiring, equipment, or fixtures using handtools and power tools
At San Joaquin Valley College, you’ll learn how to install, maintain, and
repair electrical equipment and systems in a safe, competent, and professional manner. Our Electrical Technology program is designed to help students learn effective techniques and best practices in the field.
