We are pleased to announce the opening of our newest campus – the SJVC Phoenix Trades Education Center (TEC). Located in Phoenix, Arizona, this campus marks SJVC’s first expansion outside of California and is part of a strategic alignment with our sister school, Carrington College.
Formerly operating as the Carrington College Phoenix TEC, the campus has officially transitioned to SJVC following the realignment of programs between the two institutions. This partnership allows SJVC to focus exclusively on trades and business career training, while Carrington College continues to specialize in allied health and medical programs.
“We’re excited to bring SJVC’s trades education to Arizona for the first time with the launch of our Phoenix campus,” said SJVC President Robyn Whiles. “This expansion enables us to dedicate resources to providing quality, hands-on training in trades programs that prepare students for meaningful careers.”
SJVC Phoenix TEC offers two programs: Electrical Technology and Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning, and Refrigeration (HVAC-R). Both programs emphasize practical, real-world skills and classroom instruction to prepare students for entry into the workforce.
Our Electrical Technology program teaches students how to safely install, maintain, and repair electrical systems in residential, commercial, and industrial settings. Students gain hands-on experience with wiring, lighting, circuit breakers, and diagnostic tools, opening doors to various opportunities in the electrical field.
The HVAC-R program trains students to install, service, and maintain temperature control systems across residential and commercial environments. Covering heating and cooling principles, electrical theory, and troubleshooting, the program can be completed in as few as ten months.
With over 45 years of experience, SJVC remains committed to providing hands-on training, personalized instruction, and flexible learning options across California and now Arizona. Our mission is to help students develop the skills and confidence needed to build strong, sustainable careers.
Since our founding in 1977, SJVC has dedicated itself to student success and workforce readiness. As employer needs evolve, we continue to expand our offerings to provide career training that leads to meaningful employment opportunities.
