GOING ALL IN ON

OUR DECISION TO PRIORITIZE TRADES AND BUSINESS PROGRAMS

A Focus On The Future

At SJVC, our students are the future. That’s why we continue to strive for an education experience that gives our students the best possible start on the future they want. It’s also why we made the decision to transition SJVC’s nursing and allied health programs to Carrington College. This will allow both schools to focus on their specialized career education areas as part of our alignment strategy.

Specialization Allows Us to Divert All of Our Resources to Trades Education

Aligning our commitment toward trades & business career education gives us the opportunity to put the entirety of our resources – from faculty to facilities toward the value of a specialized education. By bringing together our business and trades programs, we are recommitting our resources to benefit our students in their education and careers.

Changes to Program Availability & Locations

Students currently enrolled will be able to complete their education on the same campuses, with the same faculty and support without interruption.

SJVC will be adding locations and in the coming months.

What These Changes Mean for Alumni.

The alignment does not affect graduation status, diplomas, or career support services offered through SJVC. Alumni can still take advantage of career services, and be assured that the value of their education with employers and in their employment pursuits will continue.

Employers: Hiring SJVC Alumni with a credential from a program we no longer offer?

There will be no impact as part of the alignment process.  The college remains available to support verification of credentials.

Our Impact: By the Numbers

As of 2024, SJVC and Carrington College have awarded more than 244,900 CERTIFICATES AND DEGREES preparing professionally trained graduates for jobs in the healthcare, veterinary, and industrial trade fields.  Check out the 2024 Impact Report to see the impact that San Joaquin Valley College (SJVC) and Carrington College have had on the communities they serve.
