About the Program
Aviation Maintenance Technology
SJVC’s Aviation Maintenance Technology (AMT) program provides you with the skills and technical knowledge needed to perform aircraft, airframe, and powerplant maintenance and inspections. The AMT program includes classroom instruction and hands-on training. Graduates are eligible to test for an Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) license through the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA)*. Students can earn a Certificate of Completion in as few as17 months, or an Associate of Science degree in as few as approximately 22 months. Prepare for a career in aviation maintenance with SJVC’s AMT program.
*SJVC prepares students to take appropriate certification and licensure exams related to their individual majors. The College does not guarantee students will successfully pass these exams or be certified or licensed as a result of completing the program.

Construction Management
SJVC’s Construction Management (CM) program provides you with the skills and technical knowledge needed to manage residential and commercial construction projects. Upon completion of the Construction Management program, students are trained to prepare competitive project proposals, supervise construction sites, and effectively communicate with clients and workers. Construction Management students can earn an associate degree from SJVC in as few as 14 months ready for the management responsibilities they will face on the job at construction sites. Prepare for a career in construction with SJVC’s Construction Management program.

Electrical Technology
SJVC’s Electrical Technology (ET) program meets the standards set forth by the California Department of Industrial Relations towards the current California Electrician Certification Program. Students can earn a Certificate of Completion in as few as 10 months, or an Associate of Science degree in as few as 14 months. All graduates are eligible and prepared to sit for the California General Electrician’s Certification Exam*. Upon completion of the Electrical Technology program, the student should be able to install, maintain, and repair electrical equipment and systems in a safe, competent, and professional manner. Prepare for work as an electrician with SJVC’s ET program.

Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning and Refrigeration
SJVC’s Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning, and Refrigeration (HVAC-R) program prepares you for a career in the heating and cooling industry. Students can earn a Certificate of Completion in as few as 10 months, or an Associate of Science degree in as few as 14 months. Graduates are eligible to sit for the EPA 608 certification (SJVC pays associated examination fees for first-time test takers). Prepare for a career in refrigeration and air conditioning with SJVC’s HVAC-R program.

Maintenance Technician
SJVC’s Maintenance Technician (M-Tech) program provides hands-on training on industrial systems and equipment. Students in the IMT program learn how to install, diagnose, operate and maintain a variety of equipment and systems required for the operation of modern industrial facilities. You can earn a Certificate of Completion in approximately 7 months or an Associate of Science degree in approximately 14 months. Prepare for a career as a maintenance technician with SJVC’s M-Tech program.
