Electrical Technology
The San Joaquin Valley College Electrical Technology program teaches students how to install, maintain, and repair electrical equipment and systems in a safe, competent, and professional manner. The program uses hands-on instruction to help students learn effective techniques and best practices. Earn your Certificate of Completion in as few as 10 months.
Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning, and Refrigeration (HVAC-R)
The SJVC Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning, and Refrigeration program prepares students for entry-level employment in the HVAC-R industry. Enroll in our HVAC-R classes now and earn a Certificate of Completion in as few as 10 months. Graduates also have the opportunity to earn EPA 608 certification.*
Maintenance Technician
A maintenance technician performs preventative maintenance procedures, such as installation, minor repairs, and troubleshooting, on facility equipment. Their responsibilities may include repairing or replacing malfunctioning components, adjusting and calibrating equipment, cleaning and lubricating equipment, and performing basic diagnostic tasks. (1) Enroll in SJVC’s Maintenance Technician program and earn a Certificate of Completion in as few as 7 months.

The SJVC Visalia campus helps students develop crucial skills for work in residential, commercial, and industrial environments. We support students’ preparation through a combination of classroom instruction and hands-on lab experience. Depending on your program, you’ll develop your skills in electrical labs, on industry-current HVAC training equipment, industrial maintenance equipment, diagnostic tools, or troubleshooting stations.
