September 15, 2022

Rancho Mirage, Calif. (Sept. 15, 2022) – San Joaquin Valley College (SJVC), a family-owned private career-focused college, is pleased to announce a new Associate Degree in Registered Nursing (ADN) program at its Rancho Mirage campus. The program prepares students to work as a registered nurse within the health care system and is approved by the California Board of Registered Nursing (BRN).

“Registered nurses are a vital part of the healthcare industry and critical to enhancing patient-care outcomes,” said Campus Director at SJVC Rancho Mirage, Rieko Decker. “We are excited to launch this program at our Rancho Mirage campus and show support for all our registered nurses throughout the Coachella Valley,” added Decker. “It is also an honor to provide our local communities with a quality nursing education and prepare students for more career opportunities.”

Registered nurses provide critical care to patients in hospitals, clinics, private practices, and home health care agencies. As part of the program students will learn the knowledge and skills needed to provide safe, quality care. They will also learn med-surg nursing, geriatric and pediatric care, obstetric and neonatal nursing, and mental health care. Graduates are trained as providers and managers of care, communicators and collaborators, and client advocates and educators.
