SJVC Ontario Hosts Toy Drive for Partners Against Violence

January 20, 2022

During the holidays, SJVC Ontario hosted a toy drive for students and a local non-profit that supports survivors of sexual assault and violent crimes.

The toy drive was organized by the Dean of Student Services, Davina Cary, and was incredibly successful. With the help of students and staff, the campus was able to provide toys for the families of three students and two faculty members just in time for Christmas.

In addition, more than 100 toys were delivered to a local domestic violence organization called Partners Against Violence. The non-profit organization provides confidential services at no cost to the survivors or their family members. They are committed to supporting local communities and building healthy families that are free from domestic violence.

Campus Engagement Coordinator at SJVC Ontario, Alyssa Roman, helped deliver the toys and met with staff to spread some holiday cheer. From donating toys to volunteers giving their time and energy to better the lives of others — there are countless ways to bring smiles to those around you.

Thank you to the students and staff at SJVC Ontario!
