SJVC Advisory Board Panels

SJVC’s mission provides education that is targeted toward career advancement and development. The College promotes ongoing career guidance throughout its students’ education at SJVC and beyond, including after graduation. Those are some of the reasons that our employer relationships like filling their open positions with SJVC graduates and alumni. One way employers can partner with the College is by contributing to one of the College’s Advisory Boards.

Each of the 17 SJVC campuses has Advisory Boards that work as a link between the area business community and the College. The boards can be a rich blend of managers, employers, employees and business owners from business, technical, and medical industries in addition to faculty, staff, students, and alumni.

The boards provide a vital role in advising on SJVC programs in ensuring they are up-to-date and evolving with changing employer needs. This helps ensure that SJVC graduates are trained with current methods for filling current and future job opportunities. Board members may also offer input on curriculum changes and share knowledge about changing hiring practices, industry standards, or licensure requirements.
