SJVC celebrates Teacher Appreciation Week

During the week of May 3-7, SJVC celebrated Teacher Appreciation Week.  Just a couple of weeks before, an email went out to students asking them to nominate their favorite instructor and why, and they delivered! The heartwarming responses were shared on SJVC’s social media during the week, some with photos of students with their instructors.

Surgical Technology student, Rebekah W., wrote “I would like to recognize Ms. Wilkening for doing an outstanding job and taking over our class mid-term. She has an incredible teaching style and cares deeply for the success of her students. We are so happy that we have her as a teacher and want her to know how much she is appreciated!”

“Mrs. Contreras has really inspired me to pursue my passion with wanting to work in the NICU. She is constantly showing us techniques to help us prepare for the field. I really appreciate all she does for us,” wrote Brittany M., Respiratory Therapy student.

All the nominations were entered into a drawing to win an Amazon gift card and the lucky winner was Criminal Justice: Corrections Program Director, Mr. Kent Chivington.
