A Respiratory Therapist is a licensed healthcare professional that evaluates, treats and manages patients who have difficulty breathing due to respiratory illness or cardiopulmonary disease. Respiratory Therapist Education and Training
Respiratory Therapist training is available at a number of schools in a variety of degree programs. Many respiratory therapy programs offer flexible class schedules and accelerated degree options. A typical curriculum for a respiratory therapy program includes general education, life sciences and a clinical externship. In order to be licensed in California, you must earn an associate degree from an approved respiratory therapist program.
