
At a time when many businesses are trimming staff and outsourcing entire departments, San Joaquin Valley College (SJVC) is expanding their website's call center services for their online and eleven California 'ground' campuses.
The new Call Center, located in Corona, CA, is midway between their Rancho Cucamonga and Temecula campuses in the Inland Empire, an area hard hit by the recession. The Call Center opened in March with a staff of twenty and will expand steadily to meet the needs of the campuses' ever-increasing student population.
The College's website, SJVC.edu, directs Medical, Business and Technical program inquiries to the Call Centers' representatives who identify the caller's needs and transfer them to the appropriate person. The Call Center streamlines the inquiry process and makes certain that the right connections are made to ensure expedient customer service.
The SJVC Call Center Contact Team also includes Admissions Advisors for Online programs who work with students to support their online studies.
"Our online team does an exceptional job of helping our students who are trying to meet their career goals," says Scott Hager, Director of Call Center Operations. "We have had great initial success assisting students with their educational aspirations and are fortunate to have a dedicated admissions staff working with our current and future students."
The staff also meets personally with on-ground students to assist with campus functions such as job fairs and student center activities.
"The location of our contact center affords us the unique opportunity to serve both online and on-ground SJVC students at the local campuses, which benefits our entire student population," says Hager.
