SJVC’s Human Resource Administration program offers training in the procedures, policies and practices found in today’s human resources departments. Our students develop personal, professional and human relations skills necessary to perform the duties of a human resource administrator in California and across the country.

Students Will Learn
Throughout SJVC’s Human Resource Administration program, students will learn:

  • • Personnel hiring and evaluation practices
  • • Staff training and development
  • • Employee benefits administration
  • • Compensation structures
  • • Payroll management
  • • Labor Laws

Training also includes a variety of computer applications, including Microsoft Office Suite(TM) using word processing, spreadsheet, database and presentation software. These computer skills are important for a variety of positions across countless industries.

Program Outcomes
Graduates will earn a Certificate of Completion or an Associate of Science degree, and are prepared to take the Microsoft® Office Specialist Exam for certification in Word, PowerPoint® and Excel®. Online students can earn a Certificate of Completion and also can continue on to receive an Associate of Science degree.

Human Resource Administration students can earn a Certificate of Completion in approximately 7 months, or an Associate of Science degree in approximately 14 months.
