San Joaquin Valley College’s Construction Management program provides graduates with the technical and managerial skills needed in today’s commercial and residential construction industry.

Students are prepared for the management responsibilities they will face on the job, creating an opportunity to move into supervision and construction management.

Students Will Learn
Throughout SJVC’s Construction Management program, students will learn:

  • • Architectural design theory
  • • Estimating & bidding
  • • Scheduling & control of a project
  • • Construction communication procedures

Program Outcomes
Graduates will earn their Associate of Science degree in Construction Management, and can do so in approximately 14 months.
Careers
There is a growing need in the construction industry for qualified, educated supervisors and management personnel. Graduates from SJVC’s Construction Management program have the confidence and skills to step into a variety of management roles in the construction industry.

Graduates can work in a variety of roles such as First line Supervisor, Estimator, Foreman, Construction Manager, Project Manager and Site Manager.

Common processes you might do on the job:

  • • Plan and prepare jobs for clients
  • • Plan, schedule and control construction projects
  • • Prepare and deliver presentations
  • • Manage and supervise construction sites
